What are Mithra and Maitraya common?

Mithra, the Iranian “Light or Sun God”

In the Persian Empire and India was Mithra a god and the right of the alliance, and since the time of the Parthians, a sun and god of light. He was the leader of the right order and also supervised the cosmic order, as the alternation of day and night and the seasons.

He cultivated the virtue of justice, protect the faithful and punish the unbelievers. He was portrayed on a chariot pulled by white horses. His arms were a silver spear, he was wearing a golden armor and armed with arrows, axes, maces and daggers. His mace was a weapon against the spirit of evil.

Some scholars also accept that Maitraya is originally associated with the Iranian Mithra, savior-figure, and that his future importance for Buddhists as the future Buddha, who resides in the Tushita heaven, and the Shakyamuni Buddha follows comes from that source.

This view contradicts the (post-canonical) Buddhist tradition that Maitraya the 5th Buddha will be from 1000, which will appear in this eon.

The original meaning of “age” comes from Greek and is translated as “age” or “lifetime”.

In contrast to the Christian-Buddhist teaching is up to 1,000 rebirths (reincarnations) from.

Adam as the progenitor of the new man “Homo sapiens” has been reborn for the past 13,000 years, actually, with an average age of 100 years, each more than 1,000 times to date and confirms the Buddhist teachings!
